Southern Living Home
When Nita and I started planning our new house project, our biggest concern was finding a builder we could trust and rely upon. When we met Doug and Mike of Mountain View Home Builders, our concern was laid to rest. From our initial meeting until the end of the project, both Doug and Mike made the project an enjoyable adventure. When we met them, we told them we were very “picky” in how we wanted the house constructed. They received this bit of information openly and they provided us with a quality constructed home.
Our home is a Southern Living house plan and Mountain View Home Builders is an approved Southern Living builder.
This information was the major reason we initially contacted them about constructing our home. Another was the glowing remarks from their former clients. Once construction commenced, I talked with all their subcontractors and they also reinforced our decision to have Mountain View construct our home.
We have never seen or heard of builders who managed their project as these guys do. The project site was always kept free of construction debris and their contractors always adhered to their policies while on the construction site. We were always kept informed as construction progressed from permitting forward. From the onset, Doug and Mike coordinated our wishes into reality.
Needless to say, if we should build another house in the future, we will definitely hire Mountain View Home Builders as our primary building contractor.

Mountain Getaway
We used Mountain View Builders to build our mountain getaway. From the start they were responsive and communicative, which was important to us. As the build was underway, it was clear that the quality of the house would be great. They walked us through the process and were always there when we had questions (there were many as it was our first build). Our location wasn't exactly close by, but we never doubted their dedication to our project despite our distance. Overall, Doug and Mike provided us with our dream home that has been constructed via quality craftsmen and quality materials. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again for a future build.

Retirement Home
We hired Mountain View Home Builders to build our retirement home. Due to the topography of the one and a quarter acre lot, many last minute changes had to be implemented. For example, the entire house had to be flipped. The ravine in the back of the lot was wider than we anticipated. They worked vigorously with the Dawson County inspectors to keep us compliant. Several times like the insulation was torn out and reinstalled due to Dawson Counties requirements. On another occasion, the rebar to the driveway was removed and replaced with a heavier rebar all due to Dawson Counties' requirements. Michael was excellent! My wife and I played an active roll during the interior stage. They made sure we were getting prices on materials that were competitive and sometimes we felt that we were getting a great deal during an economy that was not desirable to be building a house. Mike handled more of the finishing end of the project. When we asked for the almost impossible, he had just the right idea to solve the problem and acquire the desired outcome. Looking back on the experience, we felt lucky to have been able to build our house and engage Mountain View Homes for the project.

Living In Another State
Living nine hours and one state away from our future home site, I did extensive research before happening upon Mountain View Home Builders in a Southern Living Magazine. Not only was this company a member of the Southern Living Custom Builder Program, it was also an Earth Craft Builder. My husband, Jim, and I had plans in hand when we met them. He was willing to work with us and once a price was settled upon, he worked very diligently to keep items within our discussed terms. Because of the driving distance, we only visited our home twice during the construction process. Jim and I had, and do still, have the greatest respect and admiration for the owners as trustworthy men and as home builders. Our home is well constructed; care was taken during the building process, the job site was kept clean and neat, and most of their subcontractors are worthy of high praise. We have lived in our home 16 months now; the continuance of service is excellent and all needed repairs have been completed...

Love Our Utility Bills
Mountain View worked closely with us to fine-tune our plan. Then they were in constant touch while we were building. Afterwards - we love the house - they're still answering our calls and have been quick to make the one needed repair on utility room tile. They are professional and friendly, flexible when we needed changes and upfront about costs. They are Earthcraft builders - I love mentioning how low our utility bill is when I get the chance.

Found A Reliable Builder
We started working with Mountain View Home Builders in the summer of 2017 to build our new home outside of Gillsville, Ga. After working with multiple builders over several months, we finally felt we found a reliable builder that would partner with us on our designs and getting us to the end without living through the “horror stories” we’d heard about. Despite the consistent weather issues in the beginning, they kept us informed and on budget and we were completed in the original timeline. Michael was a stickler for the details every single day and stayed on top of every aspect of the build. The quality of the work has been great and when the rare issues did occur, they were handled well and timely. Their crews were real tradesmen and took pride in their work. Difficult Site
Mountain View built my house on my steep creek side lot in the north Georgia mountains. It is beautiful; we love it! The slope necessitated some modifications along the way, which along with our unusually rainy weather caused some delays, but it was well worth the wait. I highly recommend this builder.

Easy and Stress Free
We have been living in our home built by Mountain View Home Builders for about 5 months now. The quality of the construction and the utility efficiency is exceptional. We are so glad that we contracted Mountain View to build our home.
The whole process, for us, was easy and stress-free. They were great at helping us polish the plans for our dream house, advising us and making plan changes as needed. Their excellent knowledge about house building and their vast experience was very apparent in the way they could offer suggestions and solutions to problems and obstacles encountered along the way. Doug and Mike are great at paying attention to all the details that keep the project moving; scheduling of workers, delivery of materials, scheduling of inspections, etc. One of the things that impressed us most as we were looking for a builder was how organized and cleaned up they kept their work site. It said a lot about the pride they take in their work. The subcontractors on their team were all very professional and seemed to love what they do and also took pride in doing a great job. Smaller House, Lower Utilities
Mountain View built our home that we moved into this spring. Despite the many challenges we had with weather, our experience building our home was very positive. Throughout the entire build they did an excellent job staying focused on cost and quality. Their subs are excellent and great to work with- they even let me knock a few nails in when I got the urge. We have been in our new home for close to 9 months and are very pleased with the quality and efficiency. Our utility bills are very similar in cost to our last home that was 2200 sq/ft smaller.
